The Wi-Fi Question
I wonder if the cost of setting up universal Wi-Fi or worldwide (or nationwide) broadband outweigh the subscriptions of millions of mobile phone subscribers who have to pay an outrageous amount of money every month for service they don't even use? In USA for example the least expensive voice plan is $39.99 (not inclusive of tax) by Verizon Wireless and Sprint. According to NY Times, an average family spends about $1000 every year on cell phone service. But a decent ISP such as comcast will charge $400 every year, again, for each household. You already can make phone calls from one computer to another using a variety of softwares such as Skype, and text messaging is simply IM'ing. What is higher, the cost of making every highway, every street and every house like the insides of Starbucks, or the $1000 each of a hundred million has to pay every year for cell phone usage, roughly $10 billion?

Suppose universal wifi is feasible, would u den be suggesting to stop using cell phones cuz u can make free ph calls using internet? cuz a laptop costs more den a cell ph. :I. moreover, cell phs myt have many more services available in the future other den for communication purpose. say u can use ur cell phones to make all sorts of payments right from ur home. may be parents can pay school fees using cell phone. balance from cell phone will be transferred to the school account. jst a thought. den u could get doctor services using cell ph. u call, pic a doctor, pay first using balance transfer and a doctor comes to your house. jst a thought.
but surely, i'd luv it if therez a worldwide or nationwide wifi. wud be awesome. but replacing mobile myt not be the right way to go unless its feasible.
Major phone companies give you the option to go online from your cell phone, although you have to buy that service. But suppose everyone had that service, and everyone had web browsers, IM softwares, and VoIP softwares such as Skype installed in their phones. And suppose everyone is always logged into their accounts, much like how you (not you specifically) are logged into MSN all the time. Parents can still pay school fees (pshaw.. what a trite example!), mafia lords can pay their spawns through paypal.. well, in other words, you can do whatever you do through the internet on your phone. The added benefit is that, you wouldn't have to subscribe to any mobile phone company since you can simply call them through the Internet.
I know such a system would be wonderful, but whether it is feasible or not is the question.
gud thought. nice. bt the services i was talking about is particularly for the cell ph companies, services thru balance transfer. no subscribers, no balance transfer. nehow, like ur thot. keep ur original thots rolling.
